Faux Tag Spread

In a previous Cocoa Daisy project, I created a tag using the October Glow Creative Ki t paper to serve as a bookmark. I loved the idea so much that I decided to use it as a template throughout the spread. By tracing around it and then shading in the edges, I was able to mimic the look of layered paper and give my pages extra depth without the bulk. It creates a dimensional effect that makes the tags look like they’re tucked right into my notebook. To keep that “layered paper” look going, I added strips of washi tape from the Planner Kit to the top and bottom of each 'tag'  Washi is one of my favorite ways to bring in more texture without overwhelming the page. It frames the sections nicely and it also helps divide my to-dos from my daily schedule. On the left-hand side I used a Top 3 box to focus my priorities, then scattered in task lists, appointments, and reminders for the rest of the day. I also I divided my tasks into AM and PM lists I do this quite often because it makes...

A6 Set Up | A Start to Finish Process on How I Put Together my Mommy Lhey Travelers Notebook

Getting a brand new Travelers notebook each month and setting it up is one of those glorious chores that I really love to do!  This month, as apposed to last month where I changed it (again) to a pocket wide, I left it as is, well, sort of.

I did end up using my sewing machine again but in a way accent the flowers on the front and the back covers.  I then did a couple french knots on the cover as well to help the flower stand out 3-D as well.  Now, to begin with setting up the inside.

I recorded a process video from start to finish as well as a flip through at the end if you want to check it out!

If we start at the front, I've got my first dashboard insert that used those stunning hexagon stickers.  The scrap paper from one of my insert cover cuts makes the perfect background for a lovely die cut!

Here are the next 2 dashboard inserts. The one on the left, I used a piece of white card stock as a base and added a note pad piece to act like a patterned paper.  The one on the right's base is the notepad paper packaging base! I love adding photos to my dashboards because it adds such a personal touch to my planner!

Here is another piece of packaging covering up the ML logo with a couple of stickers as easy decoration.  I also used a black piece of card stock on each dashboard as a base to make whatever I put on top, in this case a picture and a scrap paper.  It adds so much depth to whatever you put on top!

The foundation for this dashboard insert is actually the title card with the kit contents written on it.  You wouldn't know because all the layering, including those enamel dots.  I have no problem using thicker items in or on any project! I love the texture!

Last but not least, I used a bookmark on this insert because she is just stunning!  A few more scrap pieces on top including a fussy cut one from that floral paper is just perfect!

I hope you enjoyed the post and don't forget to check out the video flip through to see how it all came together!  Thanks a bunch, guys!
