Capture - AM/PM

I was already working on a pocket page layout when the doorbell rang.  


There were some delicious items that I thought would work well with my double spread in a AM/PM day-in-the-life-theme.




Digital stamps have become my obsession that I add to pictures before printing.  I added Kellie Winnell's in an opaque-e-ness way so the picture would still be the focal point but would still add some visual interest.  



 The Cocoa Vanilla paper and exclusive 3x4 Card trimmed made a great accent. That star is actually backwards!  The pink color on the proper side didn't really match the look I was going for so I just flipped it over.   Who says you have to use the "correct" side?!






I attacked PM the same way...digital stamps, soft ephemera elements and plug and play 4x4 cards made this project super easy to put together.

The kit also came with corrugated black paper which gave this card some real texture.

Wet Felted Spheres

This week I start teaching a weekly class at The Minnetonka Center for the Arts about Wet and Dry Felting and wanted to let you in on a little bit of it too. This step by step tutorial teaches you how to make felted balls that will be a component in a necklace which I will show later on. Start with 1/2 oz. corriedale wool. I get mine at one of two places, The Textile Center shop and The Fibers Studio . You can also pick it up on Etsy . This time I am using this variegated dyed one purchased at The Textile Center . The corriedale at The Fiber Studio is a better quality wool but it only comes in solid colors. Trade off, I suppose. The soap is from Kiss My Face , a pure olive oil soap. Fill a bowl with water and place the soap in it and mush it around. I like to do it this way until the soapy water opaque and slightly yellow then I take the bar of soap out. TN Sticker Book

  This is the second spiral sticker book this summer that we’ve received with the Cocoa Daisy Main Planner Kit and I’m not mad about it! While last time I just kept it as is, but this time I wanted to be as streamlined as possible when traveling with my notebook. I sliced a couple pages out so they could travel with me, in style with a paper cover. I thought of two ways you make this because working with sticker release paper isn’t as easy as you’d expect. The easiest way securely travel with these sheets is use one of the cute adhesive pockets in the main planner kit and just put it in for safe keeping. On the other side, with the two remaining sheets, I cut one of the sticky notes in half, folded it in half and sandwiched all together.  Staples were used to secure them since I can't use any adhesive on the release paper (since it won't stick).
