Clique Kits- November Pep Rally

Image
Thank you for stopping by for the November Clique Kits Tapestry Pep Rally!!   I was complely impressed with the deep rich tones of this kit! Clique Kits made a fall entrance with all its elegant offerings from We R Memories Wildflower collection to the dear Lizzy gold thinkers!  Working with a kit such as this was such a treat! My layout for this pep rally starts with a large 8x8 picture with a boarder of butterfly paper. I also thought that the adventure stickers could be just lovely on a similar colored sunset picture that was taken that evening. Trimming it made it look more like a tag than a picture. This is exactly what I wanted, to make sure the focal point was the large picture.   Fussy cutting some butterflies and placing them on the paper added a solid color dimension.   The paper designers did a little tricky bit, which I wonder if anyone else caught.  In between the corners of the tags, they place a 'hello...

Guilty Pleasures

I'm playing along this week with Mandy over at Turquoise Avenue in her weekly prompt - #hashtagthisweek. This time around we're tackling guilty pleasures.  I have many (many, many) that could be labeled under obsessive.  But currently, I'm obsessing  feeling guilty over knitting.  The onset of winter is make me feel all sorts of nesti-ness. I made a scrapbook page and cut it up to fit it in my Project Life.  Thought it could use one more dimension I couldn't put my finger on so I thought this would make it pop.  Used some acrylic from Color Cast Designs and made that dimensional as well. I used Laura Lane designs for all the journaling cards. Now...back to some knitting!!  XOXOXOX -Kim

Albums inside of Albums

When working on special theme albums such as Week in the Life   , #31minutesfor31days ,  or Love Where You Live,   I intentionally choose to put them in a different album than my weekly Project Life because they differ in format, size, and composition.  It's hard to understand the continuity of the projects unless your living in my brain.  Say my 15 year old is looking at my weekly album.  He won't know that I focused that month or that week on a special project if he was just flipping through the big album. My solution to this chronological dilemma is to include a little snapshot of the album and place it in my weekly album. In the case for this yellow mini album I did for #31minutesfor31days of October, I took a Becky Higgins Design I sheet ( 3 vertical 4x4 spaces) and cut off one of the pockets. Then I placed an outside and inside cover picture in the remaining two pockets and  place it in between pages of my bigger album at the app...
