One Little Bird | Between Us

Image
I tried a few new techniques I hadn't tried (or seen) before.  Super sure they aren't new and there is no 'wheel inventing' either, but I just wanted to share them with you guys.   The first picture above, I added a One Little Bird's "Between Us" paper digitally and then added the physical paper (with dimension) to the photograph. I added a few silver stars to round out the picture.  I also used a blurry pictures that was totally un-salvageable...thought it would be a good idea to use it as a backdrop for one of t he collections Journal Cards ! I did this digitally but probably would have preferred it physically with dimension. I guess there is always next time! I tried to play it loose with the collection elements  circling the 'No.4' in honor of his birthday and adding a photostrip of him blowing out the candles.  His expression is priceless to me! Another completed page for the 2016 album!  Yippee!  Thanks for st...

Freckled Fawn | What I did on the way home!

Image
We recently went to Columbus Ohio for a rare weekend getaway!  I wanted to document some stories from this journey and why not do it while fresh in out minds hearts- on the way home in the car! I used the April Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit  for these three layouts as well as  a new blank travelers blank notebook insert . Which at first glance is quite bright and floral-ly but it is so modern and sharp at the same time!  (I love the polygon shapes!) Yellow and black are surprisingly stricking with purple, a color combo I've not used before!  Using the screen shots from Instagram Stories and Snapchat I saved them in a grid photo collage and printed them out at a Walgreen's as we were leaving town. Not bad for $1.05! The frames and journal cards we great bases for two of the pictures. On the next page, I used a more subdued palette, teal and red/pink.  2 more journal cards were bases, but also the sticky note paper wa...

Freckled Fawn | Month view in my "Work Happy" Planner

Image
Welcome to my Happy Planner that I use for work!  I don't often show what is going on in my Design Team life but this neutral layout is the perfect base for this super fun and bright  April Freckled Fawn Embellishment Kit .  If you're gonna work, you might as well be happy about it! On the first page I always have a running to do but this time I used the Lavender Alpha  as the header.  To accent that space, I used the   floral washi , but instead of using it the way it was, I cut it in half and flipped the sides before adding it to the page! Even though Easter has no real relivance to my work calendar, I thought it might be a good idea to have it represented using one of the frames from the kit .  The other side, I again, used those frames to highlight certain days, but also the write a quote in. The remainder of the quote I placed on the bottom accented by those  long enamel diamond stickers   in ...

Paislee Press | Flight 93 Memorial

Image
It was a Rainy Day , both in my heart and outside.  As you can read above it was an unexpected emotional one for me. I've been waiting for a collection from Liz that would work with the pictures.  They are so classic and so is she. I used some digitals on the pictures but I didn't want them to stand out too much. Overlay is my friend.  The top card was created by changing the color of the bright blue card to this more toned down one and then I used some of her paper s for accent pieces. Thank you for visiting my blog today! XOXOXOXO, Kim

Freckled Fawn | April Sketch Challenge

Image
Hey there friends! Freckled Fawn has a new monthly challenge out for the month of April!  I love challenges: they take a whole lot of guess work into designing a layout AND it gives you an opportunity to use your fabulous kits! For this month, I used my April Planner kit in my Journaling Bible.  To play along please check out the FF Blog post for all the details about entering! Using those fabulous transparent frames, I highlighted the verse I wanted focus on, Isiah 52:1. I then printed out my daffodil out on transparency paper. It makes the whole layout a little less heavy with a see through picture of this type, in my humble opinion. I then used those fabulous purple velum letters from the April Kit  along with the foiled cork stars!  I added a few more sentiments from the chipboard pieces and colored the black and white camera for added pizzazz on the page as well as fulfilling on the sketch layout description. I hope ...
