Bible Journaling | Freckled Fawn



I've been doing some Bible Journaling lately and this kit couldn't come at a better time!

With it's Family centered theme it went very well with my gratitude documented theme for the day!

First, of all can we talk about those puffy alpha words!!


I suppose they came white for a reason!  I painted them in the same rainbow type pattern that was included in the kit.  Behind them, is a one of the journaling cards that looked like labels.  I cut off one end of the label and attached it to the beginning to make a diamond shaped pattern.  Under those I used a bit of the scalloped edged patterned paper as a base.


I then made a corresponding page in my gratitude journal.  Using another Journal Card as a base, I added a few pieced paper strips and some of the sticker labels for accents.


I finished by adding a couple of epoxy dots and one of those puffy houses!!



Lastly, I wanted to make a charm with one of those gold and colored flowers and a rubber house.  It's very easy to drill a hole and makes a great accent in my jounnal as well!

  This is the second spiral sticker book this summer that we’ve received with the Cocoa Daisy Main Planner Kit and I’m not mad about it! While last time I just kept it as is, but this time I wanted to be as streamlined as possible when traveling with my notebook. Wet Felted Spheres

This week I start teaching a weekly class at The Minnetonka Center for the Arts about Wet and Dry Felting and wanted to let you in on a little bit of it too. This step by step tutorial teaches you how to make felted balls that will be a component in a necklace which I will show later on. Start with 1/2 oz. corriedale wool. I get mine at one of two places, The Textile Center shop and The Fibers Studio . You can also pick it up on Etsy . This time I am using this variegated dyed one purchased at The Textile Center . The corriedale at The Fiber Studio is a better quality wool but it only comes in solid colors. Trade off, I suppose. The soap is from Kiss My Face , a pure olive oil soap. Fill a bowl with water and place the soap in it and mush it around. I like to do it this way until the soapy water opaque and slightly yellow then I take the bar of soap out.
