Plan My Day with me

Image
https://youtu.be/ptIa9vyKqak I am definatly a day per page kind of gal.  Busy or not there is always room to play.  I've got a few hints on how to make use the space within your daily layout. I love using the Classified planner kit sticky notes adhered down on my planner page.  It doesn't add much bulk but it also gives me a place to write or remember things that may not be a timed important event, noticeable.  The black rectangles on the right were the negative space of the film die from the Planner add on kit.  Easy to write on with a white pen and enjoy the contrast. Just above that I had some space to write some notes.  Instead of just making a section with washi, I used the sticky notes from the Main Planner Kit to add a little background flair.  I wouldn't fit as is, so I cut the film strip off, trimmed the edges off and add it to the top and bottom outline the section. There are no shortage of events in my day but I get tired of writing so...

Three things about Three things

Image
https://youtu.be/a1G9Kbp2uwU   It's always hard to pick the three things I love and use the most. Paper's almost make the cut but for now, washi, diecuts and the notepad are definitely my favorite! Let's start with the always generous washi tape.  When you get so much there are so many useds, there is no excuse not to try it out in abundance.  I like to use it the define sections in my Cocoa Daisy Insert, both vertical and horizontal. I also use it to create narrow tabs to define days on the side of my insert. So super easy when you use a sharpie to write the date.  Also I use it to tape pieces of the notepad into my planner , to have it with me but not to be in it permanently. Which brings me to the next item I can't live without, which is the notepad from the Main Planner Kit  I had no idea I would get attached to this little workhorse.  Yes it's for lists; meal plans, grocery and the like but the notepad itself fits perfect in the back of my planner so ...

Home Planner

Image
https://youtu.be/KFpBAx4Zc8Y I find it super difficult for me to keep all of those home tasks and feel less organized within a bound planner trying to keep track of where I wrote them, so I've decided to come up with a home planner for this rest of the year.  So I want to be in there every week and no better way to do that other than for meal planning. We received this really large six and a half by four inch note pad in the Classified Planner Kit .  I've torn several off and just punched a few of those pages and put them. The extra graph scraps on the left of the picture are from when I took apart the Travelers Notebook and trimmed a few pages to use in here.  But I will say they are going to make very handy grocery lists. Of the 6 sections of this home planner, this next one is for house projects.  I already have a few in mind but I thought if I added a due date and the approximate cost of each task, it will come to fruition with more than just elbow grease.  ...

Daily Tabbed Notebook

Image
We get a notebook pretty much every month in the Cocoa Daisy Main Planner Kit and this month I've decided to change things up and instead of using the pages independently, use them all together as a tabbed Daily Planner Notebook. A cover was in need since I am a throw and go kinda gal so I used the backer board packaging from the adhesive pockets included in the Planner Add on kit. It was the perfect height and I just trimmed it to the width of the notebook. Then I placed the polka dot edge on the bottom and wrapped it around the top so 1/2 half inch was secured with liquid adhesive on the back of the notepad.  Securing it temporarily with a binder clip was helpful until the glue dried. The self adhesive die cuts from the Main Planner Kit are always one of my favorite elements of each month, which is how I decorated the front.  I also added a little pen detail on the bottom of the cover as well. I un-scientifically divided the notebook into fourths, one for each week.  Th...

Paper Papers to Accordion file folder for your TN

Image
I got out one of my original Travelers notebooks which matches the Summer Vibes Main Planner kit with perfection.  Only problem is that it doesn't have any interior pockets.  You might be in the same boat for yours or another planner that doesn't which is why I've come up with an easy way to have a stash of receipts, lists and whatever else all organized for you on the go with an accordion file folder. It looks complicated but it is such an easy process. Only 2 pieces of paper from the Summer Vibes Main Planner kit are needed.  Both need to be trimmed down to the width of the TN - about 8.25 - 8.5  inches wide. But don't throw out your trimmed pieces, you will need those too. In my case I only had the cover from the Travelers Notebook and 1 piece of paper so that works too! Staple those together in the middle and put the paper to the right hand side. Take 2 of those scrap pieces, cut them in half lengthwise and fan fold them back and forth about an 1/4 inch wid...

My Unplanner

Image
Summer Season seems to be one of two things, either crazy busy or super slow for us.   This year we are taking the summer off of camps and daily scheduled activities so our pace is a little different but there is no reason to switch up my subscription.  Out of 1 Standard Travelers Notebook, I created 2 additional inserts and 1 unplanner. My Unplanner is a collection of a 4 very different sections : Fun List to do, Back to School, Recipes to try and Summer Reads.  With 3 of the graph/lined insert pages, I sliced them in half and shaved a little off the sides to create pages that are 3.25 x 4.125 inches.  Within the pages, I placed 4 dividers all from 3 x 4 cards included in the Classified, Planner Add on and Main Planner kit.  The small tabs from Planner Add-on Kit placed on the top of each journal card will help me keep things straight. There is always room and necessity for pockets so I placed an adhesive pocket from the add on kit on a larger journ...

Sticker Saturday

Image
In my humble opinion, the best sticker kits are the ones that have a fantastic mix of functional and  decorative.  The Planner Sticker kit from the Wander Collection is especially fantastic this month. With it's neutral colors, It could be used all season long and even into the fall.   This is my daily spread from the 24th of May, right before Memorial Day weekend and planning for the fun family time was in full swing.  Even though there is a header on the top of each Standard Size Travelers Notebook page,  I emphasized this one to enhance the 'never, ever stop exploring' notation above with one of the opaque washi strips. And then the layering begins. I always use up the 1.5" boxes but this time I turned it 90 degrees and used it as a base for a checklist which I placed 1/8" from the edge to create a left hand border. I often also look for the bleed cuts from the stickers and I used the orange one to place under the events title, not only to create a heade...

Travel Planner Set-Up

Image
It's that time of year when daily plans make way for vacation bucket lists.  This Wander Collection from Cocoa Daisy is the perfect base for a season long Travelers Notebook. One of the best part of using this system is that I can keep adding Cocoa Daisy notebooks as the months go by. Let get this summer started! Having a dashboard at the beginning is a great jumping off point.  I used the title card from the collection with a piece of paper from the notepad as a base and then topped of with a sticky note gives me a place to jot down some travel memories. On the back side I took the Travitude notecard from the Wander Planner Add On Kit, sliced it and placed some of those fantastic travel tag stickers to create a vignette. The adhesive backed die cuts also make an appearance too. Love how handy it is to have them ready to place wherever they are needed. The papers included in the Main Planner kit are always a welcome addition.  This time I rotated them vertically, f...

May Planner Setup

Image
Every month I always enjoy coming up with fresh ideas to use my favorite parts of each kit in a new way.  With this months set up I wanted to focus on pockets. There is an easy way to use your paper  to achieve this but also your specialty paper in each kit works well too. Folding over the edge makes a natural pocket but I laminated it after for not just the study factor, but also to "adhere" the top and bottom edges.  Then taking a Xacto knife, slit the lamination right on that seam to make a pocket! On the back side I did use one of the adhesive pockets from the Lillians Garden Classified Planner Kit to add some additional storage.  I love how these are opaque too so the vellum does stay pretty transparent in the decorations too! I couldn't go the whole month without a set up of my garden with a garden themed kit, could I?! Using the packaging from the Lillian's Garden Planner Add-ons , I made a mock up of our tiny garden area, leaving it a little blank beca...

Fun Vs. Functional Weekly Layouts

Image
There are so many ways to approach planning. I like to divide the major ways to plan into fun layouts vs. functional.  Each one can easily be constructed using the same types of elements in the CD Planner kit. Sometimes we have to think of the way we use the kit to achieve the outcome we want. Take for instance the circle stickers, a staple from the planner sicker kit.  Instead of just writing just the activity on the sticker, I just added a dotted or straight line and now I have a tennis or volleyball. Additionally even tho the heart checklist box is for 4 items, I just chopped mine for 2.  Don't forget to rotate your stickers-they were designed to go horizontally across the column but we can turn them vertically for a narrow space filler as well. On the other hand, functional layouts are a little easier to do because they are more linear in nature.  Activities and columns without blurring the lines between them normally add more structure to a planner layout...

Dandelion Wishes Planner Papers

Image
One of my great joys in receiving the Main Planner Kit each month is seeing what the pattern paper is.  No doubt each one is beautiful and each one can also enhance and functionalize you planner. Because I put my Standard Daisy Dori on discs this month I find I use the paper's more to funtionalize with dividers. While I did cut some packaging for a pocket at the bottom of this divider, I also sliced the corner so I could see the date of the week in which it was before. Because I chose not to have a pocketed cover this month, I wanted to have a place to house my habit tracker and keep it accessible.  I chose a scrap piece of paper from trimming my cover, fussy cut a large dandelion from another , then added just 2 stickers on the bottom to round the bookmark out. While this use isn't entirely functional, it's too terriabley cute not to show it as an option this month.  As you've seen this kit has an array of butterflies.  Why not make them fly!  I used a s...
