Set for Success!

Image
Long ago when I wasn't as organized as I am now, I didn't feel as though I set myself up to be successful at achieving the goals and needs I set out for myself.  Hindsight is 20/20, but I'm committed to myself and my goals which is why I've put together some pages to help me keep my all of that in the fore font for February!  Here are a few things I'm keeping track of and taken on for February: Personal goals like my tennis time and drills, Self-Care for relaxing with a good book or craft and Family Activities, which is what you see here.  On the bottom of each Cocoa Daisy Planner Kit Stickers, the designers always write out some of that month's holidays so we can note them in out calendars.  I've made this page on how I'd create some family fun activities centered around those dated celebrations.   There are also a few more things that are important to me but don't necessarily need a whole page.  These tasks can be fun to track because of the way I...

Keep in Line

On occasion I find die cuts and stickers from long ago projects, tucked away within the projects pockets I make. Using the stationery kit from Nordic Nights, I've created a pocket for stickers that won't be left behind as the year begins. Clear as the cool night sky, I'll be able to see everything I put in this pocket. The clear acrylic word die cuts were an absolute must to use, so I placed it vertically along the left edge of the starry night overlay.  With  the vellum overlay behind it,  off setting it by 1/4 inch around, I adhered it along only 3 sides. Not only does the double layer make it sturdy, it creates a great place to store the 3 smaller sticker sheets included in the kit. Using the remaining pieces left over from the initial trimming, I made a bookmark for my planner.  I sliced the clear 'today' into 2 section, stacking them on the top of one another.  Then placed a those glitter stickers as accents trailing down to the bottom.  On...

Snowy Roof Cover

https://youtu.be/4VwM0lxrn6Q There is just something about the quiet of a snowfalls evening, right before dusk when the birds come out for one last treat before sleep.  Using one of the Planner Kit papers as inspiration, I created my own pitch perfect scene for the front of my standard size notebook. After taking off the craft cover from the insert, I repurposed it as the house facade, angling it at just the perfect slope.  Using an extra sliver of the insert paper, I cut a snowy roofline and used a marker as a shadow.  Then made a chimney with some addition cover paper and decorated the rest with snowflakes and a curious little chickadee. On the inside, I turned the adhesive pocket 90 degrees and cut the now top to create a taller, more open concept pocket ready to put all the stickers, journal cards and sticky notes for a productive January.

Double Duty Vellum

Continuing the door theme for my planner for this fun project, I thought the snowflake vellum from the stationery kit would make the perfect door.  Not wanting to waste the beautiful design by pasting it directly on the paper notebook paper, I cut two long slits to create a pocket for the back. But first I needed to decorate my door with the modern pink and green washi tape and wrap it like a present. After placing a wreath sticker on the front, I peeled the postcard in half and then cut it in half again to have just 1/4 of it under the vellum doors. Since the vellum was threaded through to the backside, I had the perfect pocket for some secret Santa notes. Using both the tags included in the Stationery kit, I adhered them together and placed some sticky notes on the backside. I couldn't help but make the front cover just as lovely by using the remaining cut parts of the postcard and added some of those lovely glitter stickers as accents.

Open Door Policy

With the holiday season upon us, I thought of all the people I love to bits coming to our new home to celebrate the season so I wanted to have a welcoming door theme in my planner to reflect my always open door policy.  After rounding the top corners of this red leaf planner kit papers, I used the discard from a trimmed cover pieces and cut 2- 2" squares and 2-2"x4" rectangles as well as the corresponding pieces cut just 1/4" smaller on each side.  Using 1/8" foam strips I elevated the top layer to create some dimension. The Planner Kit die cuts that looked like postage stamps were just the cutest to add to the front door panels and I finished the top of the door with a cluster of stickers from the kit to create a wreath design. An easy and festive way to open my planner and my holiday season plans.

TN Sticker Book

Image
This is the second spiral sticker book this summer that we’ve received with the Cocoa Daisy Main Planner Kit and I’m not mad about it! While last time I just kept it as is, but this time I wanted to be as streamlined as possible when traveling with my notebook. I sliced a couple pages out so they could travel with me, in style with a paper cover. I thought of two ways you make this because working with sticker release paper isn’t as easy as you’d expect. The easiest way securely travel with these sheets is use one of the cute adhesive pockets in the main planner kit and just put it in for safe keeping. On the other side, with the two remaining sheets, I cut one of the sticky notes in half, folded it in half and sandwiched all together.  Staples were used to secure them since I can't use any adhesive on the release paper (since it won't stick). Underneath, another pocket made from the scrap trims is another place to move your release paper to. While staples aren’t cute t...

Accordion TN Cover

Image
https://youtu.be/Y94Qrcywwgs Sometimes I don’t want the bulk and hassle of a notebook folio so I came up with a solution only using the planner kit for supplies. Not only did a make a cover in place of the craft one included, I made a folio with two enclosed pockets on either end. Trimming one of the planner kit papers to 4.5 inches on either side of the centerfold, I nestled an untrimmed paper together, using the center fold as a foundation. Then adhered the sides only on one end of the cover. After folding the extra length of paper over to create a flap, my closure was one of the large die cut tabs. To create the accordion sides, I took a paper from the notepad and folded it lengthwise in alternating half inch sections. Then glueing one end together, I adhered it onto both side of the folio. I repeated the process of the flap as I did on the other side. The only thing left was to wrap it around my standard notebook and secure it with a rubber band! What a fun and easy pro...

Half of a Half

Image
https://youtu.be/mGAAjwimXBg One of my favorite things in the Little Bee Cottage Stationery Kit is the postcard, but I also hate it! It is amazingly awful that the most perfect piece of textured paper is two sided, so incorporating both sides of it’s glory was in need of some shenanigans. It was time to separate it between it’s layers. This and all the Cocoa Daisy PostCards are like a layer cake. I just started dividing it half with my fingernails at one corner and gently pulled it apart until it was in 2 full pieces. From there, I cut the half in half and adhered one on the page for a pocket. The other half I mounted on card stock to make a place for to-do’s with the Standard Size Notebook. While the notebook pages are notorious for having the most beautifully decorated pages, I did embellish this one with a few of the sticky notes toppled onto each other for designated places to write my day out. The Little Bee Cottage Stationery Kit’s roll of velum stickers had several that...

Bucket Unlist

Image
https://youtube.com/shorts/mdo3_0pDU9w If the kiddo’s say the dreaded “I’m bored” the September, I’ve got a game changer for you! Using only the Little Bee Cottage Planner kit, I’ve created a day specific Bucket List envelope you’ll want to create with your next planner spread. After cutting on the fold of a kit paper, I scored it at 2 and 3 inches. After removing the corner rectangles, I folded on the scoring lines to create a secure envelope. To hold down the envelope top, I cut the tab in half and removed the sticker paper backing from only the lower portion creating a flap for the paper to rest. Then I filled it a cut sheet of the Menu Plan Notepad, written with the included Zebra gold brush pen, so each day of the week had an appropriate activity. On the opposite side I placed a scrap strip of paper, adhering only the upper and lower edges, to create a band under which to place some extra supplies. A notecard and sticky notes for journaling slide right under the band and ...

August Lifestyle List

Image
https://youtu.be/BGX-5pTZ6t8 I have grand plans with my time starting August 15th. Not because the kids are starting school, it’s because I am not. Since giving up my full time position as a teacher I want to incorporate more intentional activities, so why not come up with my own list, creatively using the Sundrenched Planner Kit! Adding another layer of stripes using the the kit paper makes a great base for a piece of printable vellum. I typed up some specific and open ended activities that I thought would interest me so I could check them off! (click here to download the list) Instead of adhering it down with glue, I used the fabulous new PET floral stickers that are so gorgeous along with the August sticker and washi from the kit. The journal card makes a great base for a scalloped sticky notes with the black alphas on top. With this being the first page of my planner, there is no way I’d miss this opportunity to enjoy and take advantage of my new found time!
