Another Idea for Using the Striped Pages in my Cocoa Daisy Notebook!

Image
I’ve found another fun and functional way to use the always-requested striped pages in my Cocoa Daisy notebooks that I get in my Planner Kit ! I'm calling it my “Currently” page! I wanted to track something that would be meaningful not just at the beginning of the month but also the end! Covering the Days of the week with assorted stickers and dies cuts created this column of things that either reminded me of or inspired my September to be. For the rest of the striped section, I divided it in half for my currently topics first half of the month -'ings' and have a space for the other half at the end of the month. Using the Planner Sticker Kit , I created little boxes on the facing page so I could track either my moods or something that happend during the month which reminded me of that emotion.  I tend to usually use these stickers in my daily pages to mark the emotion of a certain task but in this frame of mind I think its fun to use them in a memory keeping sort of w...

Interactive Journaling with Acetate Frames: A Fresh Take Using the Cocoa Daisy Stationery Kit

Image
When I first opened the Cocoa Daisy Stationery Kit , I knew I wanted to do more than just decorate. I wanted to build something interactive—something that combined photos, journaling, and movement. That’s when this idea hit: what if I used the acetate sheets to frame sticky notes, creating little flip-open windows that could hold stories? Each acetate “frame” acts like a photo mat on one side and a journaling on the other side of the double sided sticky note base.  The sticky notes in this kit were the perfect size and already beautifully designed. I just trimmed the acetate slightly larger on one side and adhered one side to the page—leaving the other free write a little note about the picture These mini flaps are durable, fun to open, and a great way to sneak in extra journaling without cluttering your layout. Plus it hides your  journaling if you want a little more privacy. The day stickers from the Stationery Kit on each pic helps me keep the week straight. If you're read...

Too Pretty to Use? Breaking the Fear of Starting a New Kit

Image
We’ve all been there—you open up a brand new stationery kit, and it's perfect. The colors, the textures, the stickers, the die cuts… it’s everything you love. And suddenly—you’re frozen. What if you mess it up? What if you cut the wrong paper or place the wrong sticker? What if it doesn’t turn out how you imagined? Yep… stationery intimidation is real. It might sound silly, but the fear of “ruining” a pretty kit can keep us from ever using it. And when that happens, we end up hoarding supplies instead of enjoying them. In today's video, I’m getting real about that hesitation—and I’m doing it while creating with a brand new kit. No prep, no planning—just jumping in and making something imperfect but honest. Here's what helped me finally start using my kits instead of saving them for "someday": 1. Give Yourself Permission to Mess Up That first cut or sticker is the hardest. Once you “break the seal,” everything gets easier. I remind myself: this is abou...

Layers + Little Secrets: How to Add Texture and Function to Your Planner Pages

Image
Layers + Little Secrets: How to Add Texture and Function to Your Planner Pages There’s something magical about opening a planner and discovering not just a to-do list, but a little piece of art—and maybe even a surprise tucked inside. For this layout, using the Cocoa Daisy Flutterby kit, I wanted to play with layers and pockets for my weekly dashboard. It's not just for looks, but for functionality too. Layering is one of my favorite ways to add dimension. I love the pop of color and dots with the backside of the paper and torn edges also give it some softness. The PET stickers are always a winner they are always the first thing gone in each month's kit . These little choices create visual interest without overwhelming the spread. It still feels clean and open, but rich with detail. I created a pocket to add a tag with a 'this week' priority list and a meal plan for the week but you could just as easily add some journaling prompts, memory or photo from the week on the...
