Pockets for my Where the Sea Dreams Stationery Kit

Image
Customers are always looking for ways to include the vellum and acetate that are in the Stationery Kit each month and each month I come up with a different idea on how to use it creatively.  Where the Sea Dreams kit is no different for me this month when I've made a double pocket so there is no wasted space in your travelers notebook set up. I trimmed both specialty paper in addition to it's shipping backing paper to the size I needed them sewed along one long edge.  Then sewing only the top two layers this time, I sewed a top opening pocket and then a side entry one on the bottom.  A notch was created for each pocket for easy grab and go of the stickers and sticky notes housed within. Decorations to the front were quite minimal, only three stickers along the top of the bottom pocket. Then I slipped the backing board into the back pocket of my TN which is where I needed the storage all along. To create one last feature I took the scrap piece of acetate from trimmin...

Logging

Image
Logging is my new Planning obsession!  It all stems from the fact I have little time to do physical memory keeping each week so to keep ideas fresh until I have time to document, I log my days. Emotions, quips, events, disturbances, and joys all set jotted down in my Where the Sea Dreams Notebook from the Main Planner Kit. I do mix my agenda and tasks within each logging page because that also helps me remember what took place.  At the top of the page I used the alphas stickers and sticky notes from the Main planner kit. The included gel ink pen is the perfect width for making sure I get as much writing in on my day per page this month.  Wanting to make sure that there was enough organization to the page so when referencing it was easy to pick the points out that I dearly needed, I utilized the die cuts and header stickers from the the Main planner kit to create that type of division.  I also created my own washi tape of sorts by using a series of clear sticke...

Sew it in!

Image
More and more over the years I love to incorporate my first love, sewing, into my paper projects, particularly planning. While most think the paper is too delicate, I challenge anyone to suggest that the acetate included in the Mediterranean Stationery Kit is part of that thinking. Using a simple zig-zag stitch,  I sewed along three edges of my trimmed acetate to secure it to the back craft cover of my Planner Notebook. I did use a piece of the Planner Kit paper to place an additional cover behind, just to cover up the back of my stitches. This whole pocket was to make a home for a double faced bookmark. I made a slit in the top paper to house the clear calendar and did something very similar on the backside with a moon shape to house some sticky notes! Have you ever or would you ever sew on in you planner?

5 minutes - It's summertime planning!

Image
So many things to love about June's Mediterranean theme as it packs a punch with it's bright seasonal colors.  That's why I kept it simple with this 5 minute layout using very just a couple of items from the  Planner Kit.   The tile-framed small notepad pages are a great place to nest a to-do list.  I did remove the top sentiment turned it 180 degrees and placed it against the lemon and leaf washi tape as a page base. Above that is just a simple square highlighting my upcoming schedule. On the facing page I wanted a free floating square in the opposite corner but since I discarded the top of the notepad sentiment again I disguised it by using a sticker across the top.  My date header was simple using the alpha letters, my own script writing, the center of the ring reinforcer and my my favorite large alpha numbers.  What a sweet and simple layout that can be used for planning and journalling.

Stationery kit

Image
The BIGGEST hidden gems within the Stationery Kit is undoubtedly the included vellum and acetate sheets! Using just those 2 sheets I made 5 different projects and I've included 3 just right here! This framed pocket could be my favorite one with it's rounded corners and clear front made from the plastic sleeve the Stationery Kit came in.  I embellished a tag included in the Creative Kit contents where this pocket is also the perfect place to put it's other companion tags within their kraft paper envelope. This scrap piece of vellum is inspired by an envelope flap.  Adhered to the page on its long side it created the intentional landing space for the Flourish Stickers and journal card from the Creative Kit.  Adding a large tag doesn't add to it's functionality, but it sure labels what 'things & stuff' I have tucked away underneath. Spring and hand stitching always makes me feel like a pioneer waiting on the busy season to start.  I easily whip stitched aro...

Illusion of Print

Image
The printed notebook we see with the Planner Kit is undoubtedly gorgeous solely with its illustrations to usher in each day even without our personal creative spin.  This particular day I chose take advantage of the already existing print to mirror what was already there, within that design, and added some physical elements to hint that it was ment to be there the whole time. I started by using the notepad from the Flourish Creative Kit as the foundation because it has the months already printed on the side and thought it would make a fantastic dated base.  Because I had already used the shaped transparent stickers included in the Main Planner Kit, I used the printed sticker bleed to create a focal point in the corner surrounding the word 'create'. The print on the page prior had a partial tag, so I mirrored the remaining part of that exact one by finding the real tag in the Creative Kit, triming it just so and placing it next to a scrap piece of the same printed paper found i...
