Travelers Notebook Insert Cover | Freckled Fawn

Image
Hi there!   I've done it too....Just cut a piece of paper to wrap around your Travelers notebook and called it good.  But with with the new 12 x 12 papers that is available with the monthly kit, there are so many other ways, with useful functions, to take on making an insert cover. This is the front cover of the first notebook in my planner.  As a dashboard, I wanted it to reflect the life and busyness that it holds inside.  I started by trimming the scalloped paper by the height of insert.  I dressed it up by putting a journal card on point and making a tabbed picture of Luke on top. I also wanted to make myself a statement card which will motivate me for the rest of 2017 and will be housed on the inside front pocket of my pink bows FF travelers notebook.  It's just a piece of patterned paper with a journal card as a base for some typing I did on some vellum. A cut label sticker was placed at the top and bottom of the ca...

Advent Faith Planner Set UP | Fairytale Club

Image
I can't imagine NOT celebrating the reason for the season, Jesus.  I also can't imaging not remembering past Christmas joys full of Santas and stockings as a child and making those fun memories for my own munchkins! First off is my Dashboard page with a lot of layers. An divider which has the foiled acetate, patterned paper, Vellum and a piece from the cut a-part paper.  I then added some die cut pieces and a small vintage picture of a Christmas story book I read as a child. Let not forget about the planner pockets now!  I made a little grouping of patterned paper on top of which I have the die cut Jolly as well as the cutie- patutie snowman.  I also made a couple more vignettes for each pocket just to enjoy as I open my planner each day. The sequins in the kit a bit more sparkle to my fun front, don't you think?! As we turn the page I used the clear divider that came with the planner but I cut out Santa and back...

Bible Journaling | Freckled Fawn

Image
I've been doing some Bible Journaling lately and this kit couldn't come at a better time! With it's Family centered theme it went very well with my gratitude documented theme for the day! First, of all can we talk about those puffy alpha words!! I suppose they came white for a reason!  I painted them in the same rainbow type pattern that was included in the kit.  Behind them, is a one of the journaling cards that looked like labels.  I cut off one end of the label and attached it to the beginning to make a diamond shaped pattern.  Under those I used a bit of the scalloped edged patterned paper as a base. I then made a corresponding page in my gratitude journal.  Using another Journal Card as a base, I added a few pieced paper strips and some of the sticker labels for accents. I finished by adding a couple of epoxy dots and one of those puffy houses!! Lastly, I wanted to make a charm with one of those gold and colo...

Freckled Fawn | Kit Combining

Image
Last year's October kit had a few of the same colors as this years October kit so I decided to combine them together to make a whole new one with all that I have left. I try and use each kit up to it's last and the perfect way for me is doing scrappy challenges.  This particular one has a free printable which had the same tones so they worked very well together. Here is the house journal card and I used the hearts from this months kit to mimic smoke.  I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, it is just is a cute way to incorporate those little detail touches onto your page.  Can I say how much I'm loving these new papers?!  I used them to back each page of my TN layout to add a punch of spice. Alphas are great but when you are missing vowels, it's kinda a problem:)  I didn't have an O so I found this Q and made sure I turned it backwards and stitched across so it would take on it's new letter shape (and sound, LOL)! Thanks guys!!! -Kim

One Little Bird | Holiday Planning

Image
It's never too early to start planning the most wonderful time of the year!  I'm usually terrible with last minute stocking stuffer things but I'm totally determined to get it together this year! I'm going to have a designated travelers notebook for all things Holiday and I've decided to spruce it up a bit with some of last years  December Magic  release! This is a standard size travelers notebook in which I've printed out my Holiday insert.  The cover decoration is a wonderful Holiday plaid but I decided to tone it down to create a vignette by having a white opaque sticky paper as a base for my handsome hubby! I used two  of her journal cards a chipboard piece and some stiped washi to finish it out. On the other side, a full dashboard insert where I've used this journal card where I've created a clipping mask in the 'd' and inserted my own winter tree pic.  Above is a quote from one of my favorite songs..... ...'Slei...

Freckled Fawn | October Memory Planner Spread

Image
Howdy Freckled Fawners!  Kim here to talk about this wonderful October kit and my 1st project using a ring bound memory planner. On the right hand side I wanted use the new 8.5 x 11 papers and the journal cards to the max.  After placing my horizontal picture on a vertical card, I started playing around with semi-circles and layered them concentrating on the right and center of the page.  I placed the October wood veneer within the rings and wrapped a couple of those fantastic golden leaves around it to stick up as tabs. My center divider was made from the new papers as well.  I punched a few larger wholes on the edge so I could tie some twine.  Those alphas just made my day! The picture on the left is actually 3x4.  I just scored it down the center and wrapped it around the divider. There is Tyler in his suit for homecoming on the facing divider side. The journal card that matches the paper was r...

Freckled Fawn | DIY Patterned Paper

Image
Hi there!   Kim here  to show you a fresh way of using some of the beautiful elements in the August Embellishment Kit! To start off with, we got these beautiful Vintage Doily Acetate Diecuts !   I used them two ways.  I placed them in a random pattern on the bed of my copier and printed a page.  I then cut it to fit as a background for my planner page.  I creates a beautiful, smooth surface to write your day's tasks on in addition to using them physically in other places in your planner as well. I made this tag by using parts and pieces of the journal cards  designed exclusively for Freckled Fawn by Lili Niclass.  I also attached a piece of the acetate doily as well as the floral wood chips  to create some more texture and interest. On the facing page I again, used a ripped journal card as a header for some events happening that Friday and accented it with those incredibly clear phrase sticke...
