Acetate edges

Part of me hated to cut up a piece of the acetate from the stationary kit. But why have the pretty things if we don't use them? I wanted to use it in a simple and beautiful way within my notebook; in a place where I will spend a month writing my hopes, dreams and tasks.

I cut vertically, with all its fall mountain serenity, into 3 pieces: 1.5, 2 and 2.75 inches Then trimmed my off the edges of 3 consecutive pages of my standard notebook 1/4 shorter, 1.25, 1.75 and 2.5. Using double sided tape I attached each acetate strip to it closest measurement page. The look was just what I wanted, just lovely stacked all three pages together or open to either page.

I wanted to continue the mountain scene across both pages so I brought out my markers to make an impromptu watercolor background. On a plastic try I scribbled 3 different kids washable markers and sprayed each with some water. Grabbing a paint brush, I connected the two pages with mountains and trees, my version of Bob Ross' happy accidents. All of which wasn't of course perfect, but it was fun to see how the famous Cocoa Daisy paper holds up. I can tell you, I was very happy with it, no rips tears or pilling! Try it! It was so fun to have a little more fall color splashed onto my pages!
